iPhone X battery won't charge from 0% after iOS 14.0 release

My phone would only charge normally if it was at least 20% after the upgrade to iOS 14.0. On lower levels it would just switch to 1% and battery health would no longer be recognised. I reset it to factory settings once which seems to have helped but a week later I had a situation when the battery went down to less than 20% and I cannot charge it any more.

No, it's not the battery problem. It's a problem with the charging unit that has been deactivated by the iOS 14 release somehow. It cannot be charged with any cable or even wirelessly. It's a software problem. I guess I have to wait for more people switching to iOS 14 for that to become more apparent and anyone actually doing some proper analytics...
