My phone does not respond properly for a long time after I charge it

Whether I fully charge it or not, usually after I remove the charging cable (which is an official Apple cable btw, not a cheap copy), the phone does not respond properly. This can last for up to 20 minutes.

I hold in the power button and I can't even turn the phone off. It goes on to Safari, or opens Siri.

This also can happen without it being charged but in general, I find it happens after charging. I only bought the phone in July and it is the iPhone SE 2020 edition.

Very frustrating.

iPhone SE, iOS 13

Hi Fiachmusic,

Thanks for the post! We know how important it is to keep your iPhone working as expected. It sounds like your iPhone is frequently unresponsive after you disconnect the charger, and we'd like to help.

You mentioned you're using an Apple charging cable. Have you tried testing another cable in order to see if that helps to narrow this down?

Also, you might give these steps a try to help rule out a few other possible causes: About iOS performance on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Let us know if any of the above helps, or if the issue persists! Be sure to include your current iOS version, found under Settings > General > About.

Take care.
