When I open my camera app or any app that requires the camera, it makes a weird rattling sound and it's only since I updated to ios 14(it's the back camera). When I turn it off and on the sound is much softer, I almost can't hear it unless I put my ear very close to the camera lens. I was wondering if anyone else had this problem.
Both those apps need some work done on them. It's not an Apple issue.
what could be the problem, have you dropped your phone like recently, you think it's a material problem ?

No you’re right, it still happens slightly the first time after a reboot, but, as you said, it’s significantly less.
yea, the sad thing is that I think it will do it again after some time, like the sound will be as loud as it was before.
Even I’m hearing the sound of a tick when camera is opened, weird.

Same here - iPhone SE 2nd Gen, stock camera app, snapchat, Instagram, anything that uses the camera. If I close the app using camera, it waits around 10 seconds before it makes the sound again. Happens on silent and do not disturb also. iOS 14.2 public beta, happened on 14.0.1 also.
It's weird because how could it be a hardware problem if so many people have this problem. And the thing is that it focuses with no problem so it's not broken, and actually many people have told me that they had never dropped their phone and the sound is there.
I have the same problem, but I am not sure if the sound occurred only after iOS 14 or before too. Sometimes I can hear the "tick" clearly, sometimes is very quiet and audible only with the ear just next to the lens, sometimes the camera makes no sound then I hear the sound again - there is no rule. My phone is quite new and I have never dropped it.
I bought two iPhone SE’s and they both have the same issue.it’s probably a software problem.
I see what you mean, but it didn’t happen before iOS 14 and 14.2 beta 3 fixed it entirely for me
Me too, on iPhone SE 2020. But yesterday i accidentaly dropped my iPhone (right in the screen) and the weird sound from camera disappear now..
