My pencil says it’s paired to my iPad but the screen is not affected by the unit at all??
I dropped my Apple Pencil gen 1 and the tip broke off...left a small sleeve of the tip inside into. I used tweezers to remove the small piece with it incident. I then replaced the tip with the spare that came with the unit upon purchase. I am not getting any kind of response from the unit on my iPad, though it does recognize the pencil as normal.
