HDMI connection to Mac book.

I'm onto my third HDMI cord which I use to plug my mac book into an external monitor. Two of them have been brand new, beeps loudly for 10secs then cord goes dead? Any idea what it could be? Bought both cords from the same supplier.

Depending on the exact build year model and type of MacBook product (MB, MB/Air, MB/Pro)

and vintage, the answers would be most difficult to figure; since these vary too much to guess.

There are several kinds of display ports, cables and various adapters for each.

And mini-display ports, HDMI ports, Thunderbolt (1/2), USB-C, plus others.

Maybe a few dozen? Please narrow what you need, to your exact product's port

type and vintage hardware; the MacBook name has been in use since Early 2006.
