Unable to connect Android to iMessage

This is my first time here so maybe I don't know something that should be common but whatever.

I've been trying again and again to try and connect my Android's SMS to iMessage with no avail. I've tried third party servers (AirMessage, weMessage, etc.) and they either don't work or are too convoluted to use on my 2019 Macbook Pro (and I so run Catalina on it). I'm not going to shell out cash just to get an iPhone and I can't find any good alternate clients. Is there any solution for this?
