trouble creating bootable disk

having difficulty creating a bootable disk for MacOS Catalina using createmediainstaller command. I keep getting command not found error when using code pasted from Apple Support site


sudo /Applications/Install\ macOS\ Catalina.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/MyVolume

How large is the installer you downloaded? It has to be 6+GB to use for a bootable installer.

You can generally only download that version if you are already running Catalina.
