Can´t sync complete playlists to Apple Watch Series 3 since Watch OS 7

Hi,

Im using an Apple Watch Series 3, and never had any problems with syncinc music / playlists.

Since Watch OS 7 however, I had to delete all my music on my Apple Watch to make space for the update, and cannot get my music back on my watch.

When syncinc my playlists, sometimes only 3 songs, sometimes 40 (out of 103) will get copied over.

Yes, all my songs are downloaded to my iPhone X.

Yes, I restarted the Watch and iPhone multiple times.

Nothing seems to help.

Hi there Vyze,

If we understand correctly, you're having some issues getting music synced back over to your Apple Watch, after you had to remove downloaded songs to make room for an update, is that right?

Are you encountering an error message or alert at any point during the process?

If not, try starting the process before bed, making sure your Apple Watch is on its charger, and that your iPhone is within range.

If you're not seeing all the music you expect when you wake up, tap the Apple Watch app on your companion iPhone, then tap General > Usage to check to make sure you have enough available storage.

We hope these steps help, cheers!

Thanks for getting back to us, Vyze. We really appreciate you keeping us up to speed on what you're encountering.

Do the songs that don't sync over to your Apple Watch play when you tap them on your iPhone?

If the songs play normally on your iPhone, try syncing just one playlist that includes some of the songs that were previously excluded. Let us know whether you see any change.

All the best.

Hey,

1) yes you are correct.

2) No error message or alert, some songs (random ones) just get skipped and not copied over.

3) I did everything once again, even unpaired the Watch.

4) I have 2.2GB aivailable, I even deleted half of the songs of my playlist just to make sure its not a storage issue, still not every song will get copied.

5) Newest Watch OS update didnt fix the issue unfortunately.

Hi!

I can play the songs / playlist on my iPhone no problem. They are all downloaded and stored on my iPhone X.

I have 2 playlists, 1 for the gym (40 songs), 1 for everyday use (120 songs).

It might be a coincidence, but the 40 song gym playlist did a full sync, only the everyday playlist with 120 songs will never sync all songs, sometimes 103, sometimes 110. (I even did trim it down to 93 songs just to compare, it doesnt sync all 93 songs, last time it only synced 83.)

I´m afraid I cant delete my fully synced gym playlist with 40 songs, I dont want to lose it again.

I also downloaded Watch OS 7.0.3., sadly, nothing has changed.

Hey,

I might have figured it out.

When I sync 2 playlists, lets say list a) containing 40 songs and list b) containing 100 songs, and they share 10 of the same songs.

Is it maybe intended instead of my Apple Watch saying that I have a total of 140 songs on my Watch, that I only have 130, since it doesnt count the 10 song duplicates twice?

Then the numbers would add up.

Thanks!
