iPad OS 14 - can’t change external keyboard layout

I have bought a Bluetooth British layout external keyboard.

Keys do not map correctly and appear to take on the English (US) layout. ” -> @

The only keyboard language installed on my iPad is English (UK).

I have tried cycling through a bunch of different keyboard layouts in Settings > General > Keyboard > Hardware Keyboard. I keep getting the same problem.

I have tried installing the English (US) language on the iPad, and I still have the same problem after trying a range of combinations with Keyboard language and Hardware Keyboard layout.

Any suggestions?

iPad, iPadOS 14

In Settings > General > Keyboard > Hardware Keyboard, tap over at the right edge. The layout you need is called "British PC". I do not have iOS 14 yet, but in previous versions this was not available. If you find that to be the case, all you can do is ask Apple to add it in a future update via
