Its been mentioned that the 'com.apple.Finder.plist' needs to be deleted.
I've done that and no sucsess. (Aslo done the PRam, cable check, updates etc etc. )
It connects via, bluetooth, wifi but not USB. Ive also tested the USB port and that is fine.
Has anyone actualy managed to fix this issue?

If you already tried (to no avail) all the steps provided in the support article I posted in my previous reply, we, just users like you, cannot diagnose that kind of issue remotely, sorry.
You might try to make an appointment at an Apple Store, demontrate your problem, and have your Mac / iPhone inspected.

Been there, done that, just the usual " upgrade, check cable etc etc Transfer agai to another 'expert'."
Currently they are not providing any support. Maybe the new iPhone 12 has Fubared the system.
The research that i've done points to an issue with the Finder.plist .
Also the MobileUpdater.app appears to be discontinued for Catalina.
Any other ideas other than plugging the USB cable in...
Plug it in and it should appear in the Finder sidebar.
