Audio share not working when screensharing

While audio would not be heard when using the built-in screen sharing feature, it OF COURSE should be heard when using Zoom, etc.

Do you hear ANY audio on this mac? Like, for example, in the Music application, or in a video from, say, youtube?

I use Zoom every day, and not familiar with the others. In Zoom, you can choose both the audio source (like the built-in microphone, or an external one) and the audio destination - built-in speakers, usb-connected speakers, headphones - separately from the system setting. So the first thing I would check is what is selected (well, maybe the second, after checking that the audio is not muted...)

This is actually expected behavior, as audio can not be shared with screen sharing for macOS.
