I take a lot of screen captures (photos not video) and email them. Never had an issue before. However, since IOS14 I'm getting a lot of lag and or freezing. I've tried everything I know of to rectify but continues to happen.

Found a Solution
Requested from Apple for service, they sent to Best Buy, they couldn’t do and I had to go to Apple store. They said everything was fine. Told them random automatic restarts, freeze when screen shots, lagging for no reason. They did “diagnostics” in 2 steps, first software and second was hardware. Both came out good, of course, why would they own it. Guy advised me to go complete clean erase, when fresh setting up your iPhone, do not opt for any backup, meaning you start fresh. However, if you backed up youth photos, messages, contacts and other essential stuff, when you login, they should all come back. Only issue is to reinstall every old app manually. Now my 12 pro max doesn’t lag, no restarts or screenshot freeze. So the problem was to restore a backup from the old phone.
My 12 pro max not only lags when I do screenshot, it freezes on google maps, soemtimes it doesnt respond😂. The last straw, it restarts itself after a long freeze. And i paid $1299 for this piece of junk. Whats even worse? Im a hard core loyal Apple user 🤦🏻♂️
I said the same thing the other day. I totally regret getting this POS, and apple just blames Verizon. I talked to the Verizon too their and he says it’s a known problem at apple. I’m about to get ahold of the state Attourny general and complain. If they get enough, they may actually force something.
It shouldnt require this much work to fix it. How recent was this? Im curious to see how long it lasts. I did an erase last week. But I rebooted from a backup. Im not computer whiz but it should be an easier fix than wiping out years of Apple loyalty and manually downloading every app.
Turning off backed up for me which I never turn on doesn’t work nor does it for others. That fix was suggested early on. Although I do suspect that when they enabled backed up and iOS 14 they obviously did something with the screen capture that could be causing the issue. But turn it off backed up hasn’t worked today for most people.
I didn't restore any backup. I had my 11 PRO MAX working perfectly on iOS13 and as soon as I updated to iOS14 the issue appeared...
Installing manually every app without restoring... not an option to me. I had to do that when I bough my first Apple Watch (i think it was the third gen) that worked pretty bad with my, at the time, iPhone 7.... Sorry to hear this...
I found this forum a couple weeks ago and can’t believe you dealt with this for so long. I almost lost it after a couple weeks of this. I tried the back tap option and it did work though it felt slow still. And after disabling the function the problem came right back.
however today, I have randomly been able to use the function seamlessly for a day and a half now. This is random and out of nowhere but I wanted to see if anybody else had the luck I had that this has began to function normally?
Well 14.5 is here. The first update since apple took all my logs. I haven’t had a freeze up but haven’t used a lot. Is anyone else still freezing or did they finally fix this after 6 months???fingers crossed.
I just got my iPhone 12 Max three weeks ago and I already want to throw my phone against the wall for the screenshots freezing! I couldn’t imagine dealing with this for months!! Apple needs to get on this problem already!! I’ve got the latest update. My iPhone 10 did not have this issue at all but I hadn’t updated to 14 until I got this phone and did the update to transfer my old phone to this one. The second I started using this phone, I noticed it. The phone freezes for a minute or so. It’s not every screenshot as randomly it will take a screenshot with no issues. Other times I can’t even tell I took a screenshot until I look in my photo folder and the rest of the time I get that annoying thumbnail that in turn freezes my phone. I can swipe the thumbnail away. Clicking on it does nothing. I’ve had to turn off and on my phone just to be able to unfreeze it. This is insane and needs to be addressed!
I am on V14.6 and the screen capture freezes. I cannot send from the screen capture at all. I can eventually save it to my files, but that is super slow too. I haven't seen a proper fix for this in any of these threads. What is Apple doing?

Do you have a solution? Not sure why we are spending so much time establishing my software. I've said 14 and yes I'm on the latest 14.1...please tell me solution.
My battery health is 96% same as it was when it was working properly in IOS 13.. This is obviously something to do with IOS14
