Screen Capture Freezes in IOS 14

I take a lot of screen captures (photos not video) and email them. Never had an issue before. However, since IOS14 I'm getting a lot of lag and or freezing. I've tried everything I know of to rectify but continues to happen.

Found a Solution

Requested from Apple for service, they sent to Best Buy, they couldn’t do and I had to go to Apple store. They said everything was fine. Told them random automatic restarts, freeze when screen shots, lagging for no reason. They did “diagnostics” in 2 steps, first software and second was hardware. Both came out good, of course, why would they own it. Guy advised me to go complete clean erase, when fresh setting up your iPhone, do not opt for any backup, meaning you start fresh. However, if you backed up youth photos, messages, contacts and other essential stuff, when you login, they should all come back. Only issue is to reinstall every old app manually. Now my 12 pro max doesn’t lag, no restarts or screenshot freeze. So the problem was to restore a backup from the old phone.

Well it seems to be working for me. Was trying to be helpful. What’s the fact that you originated this post got to do with anything ? We’ve all got the same issue. This fix has sorted the issue SO FAR for me. 4 days without freezing - couldn’t go 4 hours before. Get back on the phone to Apple is my advice to you and share any possible resolution as I have.

You're a legend Brian. I hope we all get some resolution on this now that Tim Apple is aware of it.

I forgot to mention on my post that sometimes I'll take a screen capture and nothing happens... you hear the camera click.. then nothing appears... then sometimes literally 5 minutes later the screen capture just shows up in the bottom left. Anyone else get this?

@JONAH1168 I appreciate your trying to be helpful but the real question, which you have not answered a few times now, is where did you get the VPN info?

You telling Brian & all of us to “speak to Support” about it does not tell us where you got the VPN workaround from… Which is more than relevant.

Did you find it elsewhere on the Internet? Or in another forum? Or did an 🍎 support person suggest it after yr numerous pleas for support? That’s all Dude... no one was criticizing yr sharing the info... we just wanna know the source of the suggestion as we are all in this together man… Thanks for any answer you might share, even now, a few weeks after your last reply.

I would also love to know if it is still not a recurring problem for you… Thanks very much for helping those of us still plagued by it, at the mercy of apple’s apathy.

Apple’s, now long track record of turning a blind eye to obvious bugs or problems is now the rule rather than the exception. This is not the same Apple I could count on, for good service, support & reliability, that they’d DO THE RIGHT THING, in standing by their products as well as loyal users, when I began my relationship with them decades ago, in 1987.

Brian

im having the same issue. Its never helpful to ask any Apple support, they all use the same template of response. The best benefit of using Apple products is to learn everything yourself, because they dont know anything. My iphone 7 started to shut down itself, like an idiot, i went to apple store, they said i should upgrade my phobe. All i did is to google some articles and the fix was a simple system reset. I erased my 12 twice, if this happens againc i will just return it.
