I take a lot of screen captures (photos not video) and email them. Never had an issue before. However, since IOS14 I'm getting a lot of lag and or freezing. I've tried everything I know of to rectify but continues to happen.

Found a Solution
Requested from Apple for service, they sent to Best Buy, they couldn’t do and I had to go to Apple store. They said everything was fine. Told them random automatic restarts, freeze when screen shots, lagging for no reason. They did “diagnostics” in 2 steps, first software and second was hardware. Both came out good, of course, why would they own it. Guy advised me to go complete clean erase, when fresh setting up your iPhone, do not opt for any backup, meaning you start fresh. However, if you backed up youth photos, messages, contacts and other essential stuff, when you login, they should all come back. Only issue is to reinstall every old app manually. Now my 12 pro max doesn’t lag, no restarts or screenshot freeze. So the problem was to restore a backup from the old phone.
I’m having issues with my phone freezing after screen shot. It freezes or doesn’t allow
me to use the share button. I’m having the same issue with sharing things for a website. Phone keeps freezing. Also on the iMessages I could just type the initials of the contact and it will take me directly to the iMessage change with that contact. Now it doesn’t even populate and instead I have to got to the add (+) to find the contact. List of issues with the new 14.1 update. It really sucks. My phone is slow and I constantly have to restart it. I haven’t seen any solution on the community resource for this
I’ve been having this same issue since I got my phone (along with dropping all service when switching towers, lovely) on my iPhone 12 Pro Max as well. Now on 14.3, nothing resolved. Can we get a fix sometime soon please?!
Wife’s phone 11 pro running iOS 14.2 never has had problem my phone 12 pro max running 14.2.1 has had problem since I got it in early December. My 11 pro max which had the most up to date iOS never had issue with screen shot.
This is disappointing to say the least.

I have the same issues with my screen shots freezing, lag time and not loading. Then I find them all on my camera later, I can't send them directly in email or iMessage. It also at times has caused my phone to freeze completely needed a restart.
Happening to me to and gets worse with each update ie I have to shut down my phone to get rid of the freeze / screen goes white and doesn’t show the screen shot I have taken / lag to send screen shot to contacts. Currently on 14.3 and only got my 11 pro in September.
I initially went thru the apple support app sent a couple complaints thru and I got a message to set up a call from apple support. They acted like they haven’t heard of the problem. Suggested it might be my case ( ha not my case) I think they just don’t have a fix for it yet
New issue, now it pauses and delays ability of messenger whenever opening up whether for a new message or responding. If I typed anything immediately to respond to someone, it lags and then suddenly all appears in the text message. Screenshots still also cause a huge lag and by the time the system catches up, it shows me I've taken 3-4 screenshots.
Apple went from mostly a bug-free experience to almost comically buggy, especially my M1 MBA as well. Dont even get me into "your system has run out of application memory" that I deal with daily on that machine doing nothing but browsing the web.
Is Apple ever going to come up with a fix ? Been experiencing this for months too. Super annoying. I use screen grabs all the time and share to WhatsApp etc and every once in a while it lags freezes. Today I even had to reboot the phone. Using iOS 14.3...
Been having same issues. Driving me mad because I use screenshots to send via text constantly. It will work for awhile and then not at all. And constantly slow and delayed when it does work. My max battery is 90% and have all updates so this is an IOS issue but it’s not happening to everyone so I have no clue but fix NOW please.
I have had this issue ever since I switched to iPhone 12 Pro. about a month ago I got a brand new 12 pro. Continuous freezing when taking screenshots. All the problems everyone else is mentioning. So bad to the point where I returned the phone as DOA and was sent another brand new phone. EXACT same issues! Very frustrating for what is supposed to be a top of the line phone. Continuing to hope a software update fixes that as of right now my prior IPhone XR ran better than my IPhone 12 Pro, which is sad.
I have a feeling this issues going to be around for a long time. Anyone that calls Apple about it they claim they have no knowledge. What are the point of these forums if they’re not following along with the issues the original post was made months ago.

It is happening for over 3 months now. As everyone, I have the latest version and I keep my phone updated timely. The issue persists and very annoying.
This issue must be solved by updating or any thing from apple company

stop numbered version. Release new features along the year when it’s ready and FULLY functional
Just to add when I am able to take a screenshot it doesn’t give me the option to send via WhatsApp :’) Also I’ve noticed in the past few days that sometimes when I press one of the side buttons to check the time on my phone the screen goes black.... my screen saver is usually pink! Regret getting rid of my XS!
Hey!! Same issue with me...and I have the iPhone 12 Pro go figures 😬😂 this has been going on ever since I got my 12 also yes I am on the latest software update and not only it freezes and lags it also doesn’t load when I have to send the message or just shuts the whole app down ...ah same thing with the camera! Sometimes I either want to take a pic or send a pic and the camera just force closes and power cycle the device.... you’d think this wouldn’t happen on the latest device with the latest update but here we are 🙃
