iPhone battery issues after battery replacement

So I’ve had an iPhone 6+ for a while, ever since it came out, and I just got attached to it. I had a reservation with Apple last Friday to replace my battery. During maintenance check, everything turned out normal except for, of course, the battery. They replaced the battery successfully and everything was fine. It still got heated when I’d use it, but I thought that it might be because the battery is still adjusting to the phone, so I had it go through multiple charge cycles from 0 to 100, but this is still a problem. It’s not draining as fast, but it still heats up very hot, sometimes even just in the Notes App.

Hi Dominantxx,

To make sure we're on the same page, you've recently replaced the battery in your iPhone 6s, but now the phone runs warmer than expected, is that correct?

If so, we'd recommend taking a look at this article: Keeping iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch within acceptable operating temperatures. Under the section, "Your device might get warm", are possible causes for why the iPhone may run warmer than expected.

Additionally if you're experiencing shorter than expected battery life, we'd recommend reviewing the tips here: Maximizing Battery Life and Lifespan. There are number of tips throughout this article to get the most out of the battery life of your device.

If you have any further questions, feel free to reply to this thread.

Cheers!

The battery does not require an adjustment period to function properly in/with the iPhone. It should not get hot because it’s new nor because, it’s new and being used. There are acceptable heat tolerances that are generated by the phone under normal operation/use. It sounds as if the heat being produced by your iPhone seems to exceed the normal operational tolerances, in your belief. From your description, I am inferring you had to get your old battery replaced because it was getting hot? Have you checked the current batteries health in settings? I believe you could return to the location, that replaced your battery, and have them run tests to verify the new battery is performing properly under usage by the iPhone. There could also be an issue with the phone that is not related to the battery, that is causing excessive heat generation.

Just to be more clear, before replacing my battery, I had always constantly checked my battery health. The last maximum capacity that I had seen was 69%, there was information that my iPhone had an unexpected shutdown and is no longer at peak performance, and that I should get my battery replaced. I did that. I set up a reservation at an Apple Store, I went there, they did a full maintenance check, and everything was peak perfect except for the battery. They replaced the battery + they made sure everything was fine, and that makes it two maintenance checks, one before and one after.
