Apple Configurator 2 - backup and restore

Hi,

I was reading the support for this app and it says

If you want to back up a single user’s data and restore it for only that user, use iCloud Backup instead.

When I'm giving to my colleagues a new iPhone/iPad, I'd like to create the backup file and restore it to the new one via Mac, not iCloud. The reason is speed. I believe that it would be much faster to do it via Mac.

So why can't I use the Apple Configurator?

iMac 27″ 5K, macOS 10.15

Using configuration profiles, the Volume Purchase Program, and MDM is a much better solution. Then you can deploy the devices as you need them without ever having to touch them. Mosyle, Jamf Now, and Fleetsmith are great solutions to look into.

I know about that and yes, it would be much better solution as you mentioned. However, for some reasons, I cannot use it. The only thing I can do for my colleagues is to back-up an old iPhone and restore it from that backup to the new iPhone. I'm just not sure, what is the best way to do that.
