Apple Music "New Music" Notifications never work

I have been using Apple Music for a couple years now and have always use the third-party app MusicButler to have an overview of new music released by artists whose work I have saved to my library. I found out a couple weeks ago that Apple Music has built-in notifications (Apple Music App -> Listen Now -> Account -> Notifications) and I gave it a couple weeks but I have received nothing! There have been around 50 new releases, and none of them prompted in-app or regular not-in-app notifications. WHY does this feature consistently NOT work?

iPhone XS, iOS 14

Hi jelleverbeek,

We've taken a look at your post and see that Apple Music is not notifying you of new music from your favorite artists despite the setting being toggled on.

To get us started, take a moment to review your notifications for Apple Music under Settings > Notifications > Music. Allow Notifications must be toggled on there for any notifications from the app to come through.

Additionally, we'd recommend reviewing the "If you don't see notifications for a specific app" section of the following article.

If those steps do not resolve the issue feel free to reply to this post. We'll follow up from there.

Cheers!
