Always show time on iphone

I would like to be able to see the time while playing a game, watching Netflix, etc, all the time.

There have been a lot of answers about the clock being on when otherwise the display would be off. I would like my display to be off when I have it off, but be able to monitor the time while watching a movie without touching my phone.

Is this possible?
