Friend accidentally fell asleep while charging her phone and this screen appeared when my friend woke up

My friend was charging her phone late at night and accidentally fell asleep. When she woke up, the following image popped up on her phone's screen (pictured below). She tried emptying and refilling the battery to no avail. How do we fix it without restoring/removing the files within her phone? If it's unfixable, is it possible to save the files/data/pictures/apps from her phone to another device? If so, how?

Bits of Info:

  • Battery tended to drain very fast recently
    • From 100% to 50% in one hour when used
    • Started approx. last week
  • The screen shattered before from a fall (but replaced with a new lcd)

Even though the article also talks about a passcode issue it is the second part we are concerned with as that screen shows the phone is in disabled mode. To fix it you will need to follow the instructions in that link.

The battery issue if it started after the screen was installed could be due to damage done in installing the non-Apple screen or the screen itself, or the battery may need replacing.

Hi, Palaxi.

Maybe you should go to either support.apple.com/iphone/restore

Or if you have a computer, download iTunes and connect it there and try to figure something out.

Maybe it's a bug?

Try contacting Apple Support.

Has you friend backed-up any files to iCloud? And one more question, was the display an Official Apple Product? And who installed it?

Just saw you reply about it being replaced by a Non-Apple guy. Maybe it's a problem with the display, or they installed it wrong? Was the screen they bought, meant for iPhone 7?

Please be aware that your friend may get a notification that may last a week or 2 saying unofficial apple product detected or something.

Also, if the home button was damaged a little, touch ID would be disabled unless repaired by Apple, since they pair the Touch ID to the device. This is why unofficial apple technicians are a little dangerous.
