Widely ineffective isn't the same as trying it yourself. The biggest issue, it seems, is people didn't know about step C.

I have the same problem - deleting and reinstalling the printer did not work. Cannot even find drivers for my printer on the HP Page - anybody still having the problem???

QED, nerak100! My 1518ni is up and running again with all original printer features (and even back to printing in color). So happy, thank you!
