'hpPostProcessing.bundle' malware?

mixed messages from people who have tried the 'fix' you are reporting.

They're mixed because this just happened Friday, and information on it kept changing. The A, B, C steps are the best we know at this time. It's working for just about everyone.

The post and link from @Debra9 fixed my problem quickly. After wasting a good(bad) day's worth of effort, including Apple support. I wonder how many person-days were unnecessarily wasted. Thank you for all your comments! Apple, moving forward, I hope you do more to prevent loyal customers from wasting their time.

This is not helpful. HP say contact apple. As this error occurred with the latest Apple system update, it is Apples responsibly to post a clear solution. I downloaded the HP driver & scanner update, but still the malware message. I had to go and buy a different printer because I needed printing & scanning today, not next week.

I had the urgent need to scan and print within two hours this morning. I spent one hour downloading & installing the new HP drivers. The scanner still would not work. Traipsing to the computer shop & getting a new scanner/printer was the only practical solution within the time available.

I expect my IT to work when I need it, how I need it. This was yet another unwelcome surprise from apple. I will probably get deleted from the forums if I say that I also had to buy a cheap PC to get around the problem in the time available.

I just tried that link. I clicked on the pkg and get the same malware error message emerging repeatedly! I updated to the 10.15.7 (19H15) latest release two days ago.

If I had 12 hours I would restore an old build from backup, but this would take me over 12 hours.

I deleted the Printer Queue, deleted the Printer in Settings. Installed Update 5.1. Restarted the Mac.

Going into printers, none displayed. Click + to install a new printer. And a version of the same error shows up.

after removing both files, Software Update is trying to reinstall "HP Printer Sofware Update 5.1"

(macos 10.15.7 (19H2) and HP Easy Scan 1.9.4 installed)

Hello apple, can we please have an answer? This is a ridiculous situation! We're no longer able to print on HP printers, the driver components are detected as malware. What's going on?!

@Bennet-Alder: And that has changed suddenly from yesterday, when all was normal? Unlikely. I have printed on that network printer with Catalina for half a year. The problem exists since today only.

Keep seeing “HPDeviceMonitoring.framework” will damage your computer - can't close it, do I try to trash it? Is it malware?

I too printed yesterday, and today I was told hplaserjetzjs.bundle will damage will damage my computer.

That will only work if the printer supports Airprint. Older HP printers, like mine, don't.

It worked for an HP 4700.
