Hello Lindenbaum,

I've just got rid of it by:

  1. Using Finder to go to "Library/LaunchAgents" and moving the most recently added and suspicious looking file to the bin.
  2. Did the same here "Library/LaunchDemons"
  3. And here "~Library/LaunchAgents"
  4. I also went to "Applications" and sorted by most recently added to see if anything suspicious has been added, and removed that.
  5. Then I restarted my Mac and it's fixed!

Good luck!

Aqua_RT, that might work, though for me it didn’t. I used the ➖ in the Printers & Scanners panel of System Preferences, but no app I have magically restored the instance. Then manually using ➕ to put it back I still wasn’t able to print. Only doing the complete Uninstaller method from HP got me cleaned up enough to put things back.

No, that doesn't work either. I directly connected the MacBook Pro to the printer via USB cable and this time the HP Easy Start "saw" the printer. I set up the printer but I still cannot print: It tells me that the printer is offline (although it is directly connected to the MacBook Pro), or "looking for the printer" but never find it. I"ll give up!

I deleted each folder that popped up having a conflict. I had this problem too. It ask you to select OK, or Finder. Click finder it will open some folders. I deleted the HPdevicemontoring.framework folder, HPDM.framework folder and matterhorn.framework folder. Basically I deleted each folder that flashed up on my screen. This seem to do the job. Was able to print no problem. I have an HP 8600.

Hi tcmeyers. Yes, everything was done precisely as you describe in your 2:25 PM message. When I reached the step

"Select your printer (mine is a printer on the network, it just shows up by its name, e.g. "Anubis") and click Continue."

I received the "No devices have been found" after the HP Easy Start app spent a minute or so looking. I have seen that before in my MacBook Pro with HP LaserJet Pro MFP M125nw system. Normally I just add the printer with the Internet Printing Protocol, and everything works fine. It seems something is seriously wrong in the HP printer - macOS ecosystem, at least for my system.

Hey guys

Don't erase the framework!!! It isn't a malware but part of the HP operation system. It's the last apple update (looks like the safari update to me) that has caused this irritating message to popup!!!

People that erased the framework, following the 'advice' experiencing loosing their connection with the printer.

It's Apple's fault and they have to solve it.

So I had the same annoying pop-up. Couldn't get rid of it. Called Apple Care support (800-692-7753). Other's had reported same issue. Tech did screen share with me. We dragged to trash several HP files. That got rid of the pop-ups but now I am unable to print. We were unable to reinstall my HP printer (office jet 5470 series) software. Supposedly Mac should recognize the last printer used, but it didn't. We tried via the 123.hp.com website multiple attempts. Printer and laptop on same network. My laptop could not find my printer. (Never had this issue before, and I can still print from my iphone). Tried all the usual tricks, shutting down, unplugging, and restarting everything. Tech finally gave up and told me I needed to purchase a USB cable to connect to my printer. Three hours later, I am still trying to install software. When I googled the issue, Apple advises not to install printer software from HP, but to use their software, but this also failed. Via system preferences>Printers & Scanners, I manually added the printer's IP address. HP 5740 series came up, but when I clicked on 'Add', I get the message "inkjet1.driver will damage your computer". I am so sick of this. It's 1 AM. I'm going to bed. Maybe a miracle will occur overnight.

I followed your steps. But HP will not provide any driver for my Printer (HP LaserJet CP2025). I can reinstall the Printer in the Systempreferences, Apple will provide a new driver an it installs as it should.

But I still can’t print, there’s not output on the printer (wether when connected to the network nor when connected to USB).
