iPhone 12 Pro screen has blue green tint

For those, who are still waiting for a software solution...

My new iPhone12pro also has Problems with green tint and i just called the Apple Support. After checking the IMEI, the support employee said, that it is a hardware issue and that i should send it in for an exchange. This would be the second exchange on the same problem.

Missing quality control on a highend smartphone at that price is really annoying.

This must be your first OLED display? Viewed at an angle a white screen will normally take on a bluish tint. But viewed directly, it should look normal and colors should be very accurate.

Guys. ive just spoke to a representative on this issue (green, yellow, blue tint) and he’s reassured me that on the 15th of December a new ios will come out resolving the issues!

I am experience the same problem. And I feel the iPhone 12pro screen or display calibration is not accurate. The colors are off. They are yellowish overall. Just check out any whites throughout the pjone. They all appear yellow. With Tru-Tone off all feels very blueish. This has to be a problem for a feature of OLED.

I did a comparison with a iPhoneXS, iPhone11 and my iPhone12pro, all photos (and iPhone interface) look more yellow and 'dingy' on my new 12pro. The OLED pon the pro should produce beautiful color fidelity, not inferior.

I am having this super frustrating problem too! There must be a color calibration issue with the default settings. It should be correct colors out of the box. I am a filmmaker as a profession and I can say this issue is super annoying. Historically people buy apple for accurate displays, something is way off here. Has this been brought to the attention of Apple? Apparently there is a work around in the settings. Adjusting them can help, but it's a joke if people have to first learn about how to fix it and then go into thier settings to make all those adjustments, just to view true colors.

Even compared it to my iPhoneX and was sad to see the X have better/stronger colors. How am I supposed to edit photos when my whole screen was a warmer tint built in? I honestly thought True Tone was on until sadly realizing the screen is just this way. Anyone try getting a refund or made contact with Apple?

I have more or less the same problem. I however only have trouble with it when Night Shift and dark mode are enabled. The black colours are very greenish and if I watch a movie with a lot of darker colours (in landscape mode but not in full screen mode) the left and right edge is "flickering" dark green.

Thanks but for a 1200$ phone it is not acceptable to use color filter in order to adjust the OLED display. Either this is defective and a HW issue or hopefully will be fixed through SW... As of now Apple does not really acknowledge the issue and it is a real problem to me.

No they don't. This forum is user helping user only. The only Apple personnel here are Forum Hosts who monitor threads for adherence to terms of use and Forum Specialists who offer technical support answers to threads which have gone unanswered after 24 hours. Apple engineers, are not on this forum.

I’m having a similar problem on my iPhone 12 pro. When looking head on whites seem too warm but the slightest tilt of the device makes whites normal.

Also worth to know that full screen brightness is brightest when auto-brightness is off. With auto-brightness enabled, even when you push brightness level to maximum, it won’t be as bright.

No bummer. The screen will become warmer as it's used longer. Be not afraid. You'll never want to go back to a standard LCD screen again after having an OLED screen.

Ps: I do NOT use True Tone on any of the OLED iPhones we have. That is however, personal preference.

This is also my first iPhone with an OLED screen and I am having the same experience as OP.

Are there any resources or, perhaps, online tools that could help us determine if our screens are calibrated correctly?

Is this something that an Apple Genius could diagnose?

I am also not sure if this is how it’s supposed to look or if I have a defective unit.
