iPhone 12 Pro screen has blue green tint

Anyone experiencing a bluish green tint on their new iPhone 12 Pro, especially when viewed from an angle? More noticeable when viewing an image with lots of white.

Tried True Tone on and off and results are:

True Tone ON: Greenish tint

True Tone OFF: Bluish tint

When going through photo album, everything generally looks warmer, the whites have a slight yellowish tint with True Tone on and off, more noticeable when On when compared to iPhone 7 and 11.

The attached photo shows the same image on the 12 Pro, 11, and 7. Ironically, the 7 produces the truest colors, while the 11 has a slight magenta tint to it.

Basically just trying to see if this is how the screen is "programmed" or I have a defective screen.

Appreciate any feedback.

Thanks

iPhone 12 Pro, iOS 14

For those, who are still waiting for a software solution...

My new iPhone12pro also has Problems with green tint and i just called the Apple Support. After checking the IMEI, the support employee said, that it is a hardware issue and that i should send it in for an exchange. This would be the second exchange on the same problem.

Missing quality control on a highend smartphone at that price is really annoying.

Go to a Best Buy store or your cellular provider and look at the screens of phone on display. An OLED screen is bluer than an LCD screen. I personally do NOT like True Tone, but many do. Using True Tone does warm the screen up in color tone. I've been using phones with OLED now for the last couple years. We have an iPhone 11 with LCD in the house as well. You couldn't give it to me.

There must be a color calibration issue with the default settings, people shouldn't have to go through all that to view correct colors. It should be correct colors out of the box. I am a filmmaker as a profession and I can say this issue is super annoying. Historically people buy apple for accurate displays, something is way off here. Has this been brought to the attention of Apple? Adjusting those settings can help, but it's a joke if people have to first learn about how to fix it and then go.into thier settings to make all those adjustments, just to view true colors.

I agree with the observation of bluish and greenish tint. I am observing such colors when I’m looking at the phone straight, no angle. My previous phone was X, which is much warmer than 12 pro and seems to be more clear. I observed same difference between 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max in Apple Store, Max had better clarity as it was more warmer and 12 Pro had bluish tint when reading webpage or email.

Hello guys,

sadly I can also confirm, that the green tint issue persist for me as well after the 14.3 update. I‘ve got my 12 Pro Max only for a few days now, but compared to my old X my new device is way more greener in dark/grey areas (in the podcast app for example). This morning I compared my 12 Pro Max against my X and both were in the podcast app and the difference were massive. Both had the exact same settings with True Tone and Auto Brightness. The X was „normal“ gray and the 12 Pro Max had a massive greenish hue/tint.

Sad... :(

maybe I can provide pictures later...
