iPhone 12 and Anker Powerwave 7.5

I have had an Anker Power Wave 7.5 Qi wireless charger for over 2 years now and it worked fine with my iPhone XS. I recieved my iPhone 12 today and when I set it on the wireless charge it initially shows the charging icon, then changes to not charging and the blue circle indicator just blinks. I have tried it with and without the MagSafe silicone case. My iPhone XS still charges fine. Anyone else experiencing this as well? I do not have any other wireless charges to try it with.

Ditto...same issues. My previous XS max worked fine but new 12 pro max won't work vertically (portrait). It does work horizontally (landscape) but isn't handy in this position (reset alarms, etc). Right now I have a standard wooden pencil raising the phone ~5mm above the stand bottom...works fine!! Thanks all....

Same experience here. Gone through my Xs and 11 Pro with no issues. Now with the 12 Pro I notice it will not charge unless put into landscape mode as another poster mentioned. What I have concluded from Anker's product page, is that internal magnets can trigger the charger's foreign object detection and cause a safety shut-off. As the 12 series now have magnets for Magsafe, my assumption is that it renders them no longer conveniently compatible with the charger.

Some of the Anker charging stands include what they call 'foreign object detection' which will stop it charging if it detects that the object placed on it is not a Qi device. This is a safety measure because some other objects may cause the charger to start emitting energy but not actually charging (like other metal objects, keys, etc). More info is on their website about it.

Despite the iPhone 12 being Qi-compatible, it has the magnets built in for Magsafe, and so it is triggering the stand's foreign object detection and stopping the charging. I was about to buy one of these stands myself, but this forum post seems to be suggesting I shouldn't!

Same problem with my Anker PowerWave Stand 7.5W, impossible to charge and led is blinking in blue !

I think the problem comes from magnet on the back of iPhone 12/Pro.

apparently, there is no solution to fix, except to be sure Qi on iPhone is perfectly aligned with one of the coils of Qi charger ...

that’s why it works with flat (non stand model) Qi charger and it works too in landscape mode on « Stand » model

The weird thing about this is that my wife has the Powerwave that isn’t made for fast charging and the iPhone 12 works just fine with that one in portrait orientation. It’s the same shape of stand. I swapped them and gave her my Powerwave 7.5 for her XR and took the Powerwave 5. I don’t need fast charging anyway because I charge overnight. Weird though that the 5 works and 7.5 doesn’t.
