Hello tomasz163,

We understand that you want to know if you can ask Siri to add a song to a playlist without an Apple Music subscription. You’re in the right place, we’d be glad to assist in seeking a solution.

Yes, a subscription is required because it relies on Sync Library, which is a feature of Apple Music. These resources will help:

Use Siri to play music or podcasts

Turn on Sync Library with Apple Music

Have a great day.

I’m furious about this as well. I was on 13.whatever firmware a couple days ago, But got my in-law’s old apple watch for christmas, Which in order to sync it with my phone, first i had to update which i’m already not keen on doing since i just know they like screwing with features and sure enough we have this ***** to deal with.

I was happy too cuz a few weeks before this, i finally realized i could add my songs to my playlists (which are mainly video game tracks that arent on itunes so I already have less of a reason to want a subscription to apple music) safely while driving thanks to siri. but now i have to be disgruntled every time i get the urge to update my playlists because apple wants to charge me however bucks a month for a simple safety/convenience 🙄🙄🙄 seriously, im bout sick of this company.

hopefully they fix this soon cuz this is unnecessary, unfair, and harmful. this sounds dramatic, but whats the point of owning all these cool neat EXPENSIVE gadgets if they limit their usefulness?

I am furious about this! I was able to do use Siri to add MY songs to MY playlists while I was driving with IOS 13.x without having a subscription to Apple Music. I haven't bought any of my music through Apple nor have I ever had a subscription to Apple Music. All of the songs in MY library came from MY cds. There is no need for Apple Music to sync my library. Sync it to what? Why was a change made in IOS 14.x? I paid $1200 for this phone and now I can no longer use the functionality that I was able to with a previous IOS. Why was this changed? You must change it back or I will seriously consider moving to an Android phone. This is unacceptable.

Why Siri won’t add song to playlists? I don’t want Apple Music subscription.
