Macbook speaker feedback into microphone

Whenever my Macbook 16 plays anything, the microphone picks it up and during a video call or normal call, it echoes a lot for the other party. All the previous android and windows devices I used have never had this issue. Is this normal or otherwise how do I go about fixing the issue. I looked through the previous topics on the forums for similar problems that people had in the past and I didn't see a single solution.
