Good evening. My aw is on latest firmware, but altimeter doesn’t work, only showing —-. Geolocation is on, was trying to repair with phone, restore from backup and set up as new - all this doesn’t help. How can I solve this

Ever since upgrading my phone to iOS 14.5 and my watch to 7.4.1 the barometer reading has been consistently accurate. Prior to that it always showed a reading that was about 2000 feet higher than the actual altitude.
For what it’s worth, when the issue started happening to me, I hadn't even left the house yet after first setting up the watch. I think large changes in distance may force it to recalibrate itself.
Well for me it was 3 weeks of working. From yesterday it again doesn’t working. Apple do something with this crap!!!

That’s good information. I opened a case with Apple on Sunday. They took the logs from my phone and watch and will be calling me back tomorrow. Third party apps such as My Altitude work so it must me an Watch OS issue.
I was hoping this issue would be fixed with Watch OS 7.2 but no such luck. The altimeter is still typically hundreds of feet off for my actual altitude. The ability to ask Siri what my altitude is no longer works. Now she has no idea what I'm talking about. I will follow up with Apple support again to see if they have a resolution.
