macOS Catalina 10.15.7 Update

I have a MacBook Air 11-inch (Early 2015) and am trying to run the macOS Catalina 10.15.7 Update. Every time I selected update now, I am required to restart, I get the black screen with apple icon and progress bar, the computer then asks me to log back in, and the computer still requires the same macOS Catalina 10.15.7 Update. Any idea of what is going on?

MacBook Air 11″, macOS 10.15

You do not say what macOS you are currently running?

If this is the point update, then verify you are using the Safari browser and download direct:

Combo update macOS 10.15.7 https://support.apple.com/kb/DL2052?locale=en_US

If you are looking for the full installer and have an issue then do a safeboot and try again:

When updating from Apples Servers it is best to do it using a cabled connection to your router.

If WiFi is the only option then make sure your mac is as close to the router as possible.

Do not use the mac while it is downloading or use any devices that share the same internet connection.

Try downloading this instead,

https://support.apple.com/kb/DL2052?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US

Once downloaded double-click to install.
