iPhone 12 yellow screen

i got my 12 pro yesterday, beautiful machine, but i started to notice some lack of color intensity, i've using an Iphone X for 3 years know, so something was off. I put the two side by side, displaying the same foto, exactly same settings, and it's sad, something is wrong with the 12 pro, the colors are sad and dead and "yellowish".

Any ideas ?

Hello Antonio! I found a solution that works for me and would work for you as well! My new iPhone 12 also had the yellow tint to it so I exchanged it at my local apple store and although the new one was better, it still had the tint to it. My solution is to actually change the color tint of the display by going into your settings < accessibility < display & text size < color filters < turn on and select color tint. You can scroll down and adjust the intensity and the hue. I have my intensity slider all the way to the left and my hue is about 80% to the right which adjust the tint to a more natural color. It has satisfied me and I hope it works well for you!

As of now you cannot use an iPhone 12 to edit pictures in a colour neutral setting since the screen is so far off from neutral. This is a huge problem in light of this phone being equipped and presented as a photographers tool.

I wish you people would do yourselves a favour and compare the iPhone 12 to a colour neutral grey or white background then you will understand that there is no amount of toggling true town, ambient light or color spaces on /off or adjusting screen colors. It won’t help.

Please stop giving advice to people that will not help solve the problem.

No matter what some people are saying the bottom line is that for some, if not most, people have a problem with the white. It’s so obvious when you compare it to another iPhone model prior to the 12. It needs to be addressed by Apple because this is supposed to be the ultimate camera phone and if the color is off you cannot edit your pictures accurately and that sucks if you want to order canvas or prints of your photos.

I tried some of those adjustments but just couldn’t really find the sweet spot. Would be great if the adjustment could be make with an image in the viewer, if that makes sense? Also- the primary issue is white balance. When you adjust tint and hue - it does it across the board, not just to the whites.

I just feel like, for 1K I shouldn’t have to futz around like that. Most likely I’ll be returning this phone and waiting for an improvement. Pretty bummed. I was really excited about upgrading my photo situation.

I tried the colour filter trick.

You can kick away the yellow tint with colour filter but you didn’t resolve the problem in reality. If you apply a colour filter the screen brightness is significant lower. The iPhone 12 screens is awful with that yellow tint. Shame on apple, 1000€ to get an ugly yellowed display, Iam very disappointed.

I was pixel 4 before I came back to iPhone, not had a iPhone since 6. Before I sold my pixel phone I compared screen and pixel was well better, reason why I didn’t send iPhone back was because when I read about it I heard they had the same problem with IPhone X and later got fixed so I thought I will just wait.

I think iPhone lack on OLED screens and that’s why we still stuck with 60hz while 90hz has been with android phones for the past 4years and now some phones hitting 120hz. The only good think with OLED it should only take a update to fix but has Apple just given up?

Maybe they have given up or this was how the screen was calibrated meaning it may be intentional. Apple has released 3 iPhone models ( X, XS, and 11 ) with OLED screens over the years. No way are they lacking since they basically source the panels from Samsung and LG. If anything, in Apple’s words, “ we are probably holding it wrong “.
