iPhone 12 yellow screen

i got my 12 pro yesterday, beautiful machine, but i started to notice some lack of color intensity, i've using an Iphone X for 3 years know, so something was off. I put the two side by side, displaying the same foto, exactly same settings, and it's sad, something is wrong with the 12 pro, the colors are sad and dead and "yellowish".

Any ideas ?

Hello Antonio! I found a solution that works for me and would work for you as well! My new iPhone 12 also had the yellow tint to it so I exchanged it at my local apple store and although the new one was better, it still had the tint to it. My solution is to actually change the color tint of the display by going into your settings < accessibility < display & text size < color filters < turn on and select color tint. You can scroll down and adjust the intensity and the hue. I have my intensity slider all the way to the left and my hue is about 80% to the right which adjust the tint to a more natural color. It has satisfied me and I hope it works well for you!

Best answer to fix this

https://www.iphonetricks.org/how-to-fix-iphone-12-yellow-screen-display/

Basically

  • Open the Settings > Accessibility > Display & Text Size > Color Filters
  • Enable Color Filters and tap on Color Tint.
  • Move the HUE and/or INTENSITY slider to reduce the yellow tone of your display.

Hold an older iPhone nearby if you need a white screen standard.

I think that's the answer here. Give back your phone and get a full refund.

One of three things will happen:

  1. Apple fix the problem on the 12 pro - you can purchase the phone again.
  2. iPhone 13 has a "super retina pro max mighty white" display which fixes the problem.
  3. No fix - either embrace that all iPhone displays from now are amazingly warm in tone; or don't buy them.

@inigo160 I have tried everything that has been suggested and more. Nothing gets the whits to pop on the iPhone 12 Pro screen. I even spoke with Apple Support yesterday and they do recognize the issue people are having...the problem is they suggest the same crap fix that I've seen online which is this:

  • 1. Open the Settings app.
  • 2. Browse for Accessibility.
  • 3. Tap on Display & Text Size.
  • 4. Scroll for Color Filters.
  • 5. Enable Color Filters and tap on Color Tint.
  • 6. Move the HUE slider to reduce the yellow tone of your display.
  • Tip: You can also adjust the INTENSITY to get the desired result. Hold an older iPhone nearby if you need a white screen standard.

THIS "FIX" DOES NOT WORK!!!! IT ONLY ADJUSTS THE HUE IT DOES NOT BRING BACK THE BRIGHT WHITE THAT IS MISSING FROM THE NEW IPHONES!!!

Apple needs to admit a problem and either offer the 11 Pro at the same special price as the 12 Pro or fix the issue.

this is unacceptable for those of us who bought this phone specifically for the camera and editing capabilities.

This is a defect of the new Phone (and as far as I understand it's not happening to alla Phones); Apple Care doesn't change anything.

My suggestions are:

  • either you give the phone back, getting back the money, and wait for solving the issue;
  • or you wait a fix (they have to repair it).

Eventually with the same money of the apple Care I suppose you can give the phone back when the 13th is out next year.

I believe that this Covid thing is also helping covering this huge Apple mistake, because it's almost impossible go to the Apple Store and have a look to other phones making comparisons.

Adjusting the Hue settings was most helpful for me. I moved the hue to a bluer setting and increased the brightness to get the screen to a setting I'm happy with. Hope it is helpful to others:

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Browse for Accessibility.
  3. Tap on Display & Text Size.
  4. Scroll for Color Filters.
  5. Enable Color Filters and tap on Color Tint.
  6. Move the HUE slider to reduce the yellow tone of your display. Tip: You can also adjust the INTENSITY to get the desired result.

Hello ,

i have exactly the same problem as i had been using iphone x till now . I tried to contact the apple service and they replied that , this is not an issue at all , as every display might be a little warmer or cooler . As i see is not just me or just my eyes that see the difference , and as i understand the problem is not just the yellowish display , the colors , the contrast all seem to be unbalanced. its a shame for 1k phone .look at the side by side comparison. same photo , same settings and everything just on the right is the iphone x . . I think i am gonna keep the x and return the 12 pro .

I experienced the same issue with an iPhone 12 Pro. Straightaway I thought the screen looked too yellow. Having True Tone on really exacerbated the issue and was most definitely not any kind of 'natural' white colour.

Spent some time with Apple Support troubleshooting but the issue persisted. The support rep. agreed that there appeared to be an issue with the screen itself so I've returned it and waiting on a replacement to be shipped. Fingers crossed the replacement is better but not holding out much hope based on other peoples experiences I've read.

Here's a photo of the iPhone 12 (left) next to my old iPhone X (right). True Tone and night shift disabled in both cases.

Fixed mine pretty easy. These photos don’t depict color on the finished screen after adjustment yet on 12 Pro and were not taken with a PRO, so don’t use them to judge. But set about like what is shown on these 3 screens and you should have a better picture than your XS. At least it worked that way on mine. So Settings>Display & Brightness SET ===> True Tone OFF

Then Settings>Accessibility>Display & Text Size SET ===>Differentiate Without Color OFF, Auto-Brightness ON and then Color Filters ON and Color Tint check-marked with Intensity adjusted towards the far left until you get the bright white your eyes like.

I think Apple probably have serious issue with iPhone 12 production. I believe all the iPhone 12 with yellow tone display may have defect oled panel; I visited Costco store today, and they have iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12 pro max, and iPhone 12 on display. All have yellow tone except one iPhone 12, which has the correct color display. As shown in the picture here, on the left is last year iPhone 11 Pro max; in the middle is the new iPhone 12 (with correct color display - color filter is turn off); on the right is iPhone 12 mini with yellow tone display. The iPhone 12 in the middle has highest brightness (I set brightness on all the phones to max); in the picture iPhone 12's font/letter look washed-out because of the way I took the picture. In make eyes, the color on the iPhone 12 looks pretty good.

My iPhone 12 pro had a yellow display, and I took it to Apple store on Sunday; Apple Genius Bar ran a test on it and told me that the display was defected. I decided to return the phone instead of exchange for the new one. I will wait until Apple fix the issue before I buy the iPhone 12 again.
