iPhone 12 yellow screen

Lol that’s not an iPhone 10 you got there my friend, looks really big . Anyway I picked up the 12PM launch day and the yellow tint is frustrating. I’ve resorted to using the color filters and my eyes have somewhat adjusted to the new colors. Still I feel I should return the device because everytime I compare the screen to my iPhone X I just smh. It’s pitiful

Same problem with the iphone 12 mini received today, screen looks pale and yellow compared to my iphone X. Adjusting the color tint helps to get rid of the yellowish, but white color is light grey and max brightness doesnt reach the same brightness as my iphone X

Thanks got my 12 Pro Max yesterday. Have the same problem. Slightly yellow. Doesn’t look quite right.

Planning on giving the phone another week. If I can’t get used to it will return. My iPhone X still works fine. If Apple fix the problem at some point I’ll probably then go and purchase the 12 again.

I got an interesting feedback from apple support in France today. I called them back because the UPS pick up to return my 12 pro Max failed and I was wondering if returning it for replacement was still a good option. I was told that, green tint, flickering and in my case lower brightness than my iPhone X should be hardware issues and require to replace the phone.

Concerning the yellow tint, that I also complained about, I was told that this should be solved soon by a software update ....

So I hope that the replacement iPhone will solve the lack of brightness, even though I was getting used to it, but it still hurts when comparing with my hold X.

Just got the iPhone 12 Pro, annoyingly off white yellow tinge when compared to the XR it’s replacing. My question is, does anyone have it so this is only the case when viewing straight on? I.e. it goes away when your view is tilted in literally any direction. Whether I return is based on whether this is a hardware issue or solved by a patch. I can’t understand how they could ship everyone this jaundice phone without some alarm bells going off.

I’ve noticed that out in daylight True Tone on actually makes the screen more white than wit True Tone off. The reverse is the case indoors, yellow screen with TT off and more yellow with TT on. This can definitely be fixed with software

OK. So I got an iphone 12 pro MAX on launch day. Long story short returned it hoping new one will be ok.

No, it is still yellow. Ok yellow might be fixed with a software update but I spoke to apple care today they said they do not know yet if 14.3 will fix this and when will 14.3 come out.

Last night I ran a “black video test” on youtube.

The display turns green and badly starts flickering. This is a hardware issue!!!!

Flickering is only noticeable on blacks but it is there always. Giving me headaches!!!!!

I am returning the phone AGAIN and hoping the third one will be okay!!!!!

My screen shift to the right when I go to the Internet page if I have the zoom feature on.

I have to pinch the screen & move it in order to see it.

I had the same experience today (Nov 25) with an iPhone 12 Pro. Happened in Germany in Frankfurt am Main. As soon as I had my old XS side by side with the new 12 Pro during setup, I detected that the 12 Pro showed the issue with the yellow tint. The white and the other colors were also more pale in comparison

I went back to the store. They tried a second device, but that turned out to be even worse. But not all 12 Pros seem to be affected. An exhibition device on the table where we stood looked as good as my XS.

The Genius guy was friendly and tried to help. However, the store manager had a problem with opening more packaged new devices for me in order to compare it with my XS as a benchmark. He was not willing to do that. So I was no longer willing to buy an inferior device and returned the 12 Pro. I got a refund without any problems.

Not nice, but finally ok for me. Maybe I'll try again in a few months, when there are new batches of devices. I'm afraid there may be a lot of affected devices that are currently going on sale. I hope the other buyers will also have a chance to compare their screen quality and return it if necessary.

I live in London and will be making my third attempt. Two failed attempts both Iphone 12 pro max with yellow tint/green tint/flickering issues.

Well as long Apple fixes this they have to return the device within the return policy even if that takes them to open 20 boxes!!

The only downside is that london is in lockdown till 2nd Dec. So browsing display models in store is not allowed. So I am waiting to make my third change when lockdown is lifted soon on 3rd Dec. The Christmas Return policy covers me till 8th Jan 2021 in London so I am covered!!! But this issue is **** real!!

I had the flickering with my first iPhone 12 Pro. I still have the low light, tinged background for everything no matte what app I am in it still appears low lit & colors are still not vibrant at all.

I am not happy at all. I spoke with a tech today & we did a restore & that did not change the background appearance at all. Even using the pre-set backgrounds the lighting for this phone is horrible. I even took it in to the Apple store 11/23/20 & was essentially told to go home & handle it myself or deal with tech support no change.

I think I may ask for a refund & buy something else.

OK. So I am going crazy.

I changed my iphone 12 pro max the third time and it is the same!!!! Different stores!! Different serial numbers but still the same!!!!

I made a video and called Apple Support and asked them to do a screen share. They did and I played the flickering green video so is is recorded. The senior team will call me tomorrow but I do not think they can fix the issue. They can only run a basis diagnostic over the phone which also went through my last two devices but did not help.

I will now take my third device to Apple once the stores open after 3rd Dec with genius bar to run diagnostics on the phone and see what they say.

I am so exhausted and disappointed already going back and fro changing three times and setting up my phone three times which is a pain in itself!!

Okay I can settle with the warmer display but NOT the green flickering issue!!! That is bad!!!!

I gave up too. Dead colors, yellowish, bad quality photos and videos. Doesn’t matter on which other device you check them.

Terrible camera and display quality. Period.

Reviews, that say display is gorgeous are biased and don’t care about their reputation.

Auto brightness has nothing to do with this problem. And even if Auto brightness would solve anything, it would just show that something is wrong with the color management. Colors are dead, photos are dingy, I don't even want to mention videos.

The yellow tint also affects iPhone 12pm camera’s performance!!! 

I got rid of the yellow tint on my 12mp per setting adjustments you can find online and also on this discussion thread.  After convincing myself that I can deal with a practically grayish whiteish screen color compare with my old 11pm, I took both phones to an outdoor shoot.  While the 11pm was true to the colors of the footages I took, the 12mp exhibited faint, non vibrant colors. The photos had washed off colors compare to what nature looked like.  The 11pm photos on the other hand were all true to the colors (ie what you see is what you get in the photo!). 

What was more disturbing is that when I airdropped an image from  the 12pm to the 11mp, the colors of that image (on the 11mp) looked washed off. However when I airdropped and image I took on the 11pm to the 12pm, the image was not as bad as a similar taken on the 12pm but not as good as one the Skender on the 11pm- that is because of the compromised screen adjustments due to the yellow tint issues we are discussing here

There are so many things I like about the 12th - Nevertheless it’s time to return it and go back to the old 11pm until Apple figured out these issue and fix them. I highly doubt that a software fix will ll from it this time around.
