A couple of things.

I had my mag safe for a week and then it stopped charging the phone entirely.

the charging icon couldn’t even turn on.

It took it and and had it replaced.

The second one wouldn’t charge either...

at the same time, I installed an OS upgrade.

that fixed the problem.... maybe

it could have been that the reboot fixed the MagSafe charging issue.

also, MagSafe is extremely slow, as we know, and if the phone is in use it will loose charge.

Apple needs to step up their game with stuff like this. For 40 bucks I expect an Apple product that that works well

It’s just really annoying.

Hopefully this IOS upgrade, (14.2.1), fixed the problem.

iPhone 12 Pro - my MagSafe 'charger' isn't charging.

I'm using an Apple 20w wall charger and it simply won't charge the phone. The phone loses battery power, while I'm on calls, but the phone is on the MagSafe 'charger'. Interestingly, if I plug the provided lightning cable into my laptop, the phone won't charge either.

The only way I've been able to successfully keep the 12 Pro charged is using an older Anker charger or I'll use the included lightning cable with the same Apple 20w wall charger (that doesn't work when combined with the MagSafe charger.

I'm not typically an early adaptor, but my FaceId was disabled by the iOS 14.0 upgrade on my 10x. Agh!

ETA: I've rebooted and am not testing the MagSafe to see if it will work now.

I have my iPhone 12 mini on the MagSafe charger overnight while I have a white noise app playing (screen is off, audio only). Most nights it only charges a few %, if not dropping a few %. One night it completely died and one night it did charge to 100%. It does get quite warm. It is so inconsistent, I never know what level of charge I will wake up to. In the morning, if I turn off the white noise app, it seems to charge up fairly quickly.

I have an Apple MagSafe case, but I get these same results whether the case is on or not. Is the MagSafe charger so weak that it can't compete with audio being played? Why is it so inconsistent?
