iPhone 12 Pro messaging videos with blue / turquoise / cyan video

Did you have an available update? Because nothing shows on mine.

When I went to settings it says 14.3

but I also just bought it and took it out of the box 🤷🏽‍♀️

Phone updated. Didn't fix problem. Not sure why mine is different than those of you saying it worked for you. Ugh.

Nothing has worked for me either. This is getting me mad. For the $$ I spent on the 12 pro max phone I should be able to send videos without a problem!

This did not work for me. Any other ideas?

Thank you!! This worked for my wife having the same problem.

My wife and I both got iPhone 12s at the same time (hers through Xfinity Mobile, mine through Verizon). So far, mine has not done this but hers has. Carrier is likely insignificant, I would guess. We both utilize iCloud for photo/video overflow, however she has probably 5x the number of photos and videos that I have. We share our iCloud storage.

Sharing via iCloud link is her workaround at the moment.

Make sure that “HDR video” is toggled OFF. Go to settings, camera, record video, and toggle off HDR. Depending on what device you are sending a video to, if it was recorded in Dolby Vision HDR, their screen may not be capable of rendering the HDR image.

This isn’t working. I send a video from my iPhone 12 Pro max to my wife who has the same phone and she gets the blue screen and only audio. However, I can send a similar video which was 4 min long to my old iPhone XS Max that my parents use and it goes through without a problem..

My wife and I both have iPhone 12 pro phones and are having issues with some videos. Some are fine and others have the issue of the blue/teal video with only audio. In the past a reboot seemed to get the video to come through but the most recent incident (a few moments ago) a reboot would not solve the issue and no matter what the video will not come through properly. The odd thing is, she sent the exact same video to her mother who has a iPhone XR and it worked just fine for her.

I found the solution.

Settings > Camera > Formats - choose 'Most Compatible'

Fixed it for me.

Ive done an update, took anothe video and it is fine now.

It won't work for videos taken in High Efficiency mode. Try to take new videos with the Most Compatible setting and see if that works.
