iPhone 12 Pro speaker audio issues

Ah didn't think of it that way! I was able to snag an appointment at the genius bar. The tech had an iphone 12 pro as well and his was considerably louder and no static. I did let him know that about a week after we purchased the unit it shut down and went into recovery/restore mode. so we did a fresh install as well as a back up and that's when the issue seemed to appear. so i'm not sure if something was corrupt in the software that caused it shut down, but they replaced the phone and the new one (knock on wood) works fine so far.

I was able to make a genius bar appointment and they exchanged for a new one. The technician had an Iphone 12 Pro and was able to compare the sound on his to mine and noticed the difference and switched them out. The new one has no problems.

I had to go and get the part replaced. Since they didn’t have the part they were gonna send my phone to Apple. But it was gonna take no less than 2 weeks with a holder phone (iPhone 8 or older; Apple’s policies are silly); so I just went through my carrier insurance and they sent me a phone next day.

Similar issues with my iPhone 12. Crackling sound was terrible for my ringer, Instagram and Snapchat video/audio. No issues with YouTube though. Apple support didn’t seem to know anything and suggested I take it to an Apple store.

I bought it at Costco so it was easier to just exchange there. No issues with the new phone so far

Then new 12 Pro I received has no audio issues at all. So it was worth me having it replaced. Still don't think that $30 was fair to replace a 2 day old phone. Sending a two day old phone into apple repairs is not reasonable either.

Hope the rest of you get your speaker figured out. I do not believe mine was a software issue though.

On my iPhone XS Max my speakers been crackling on phone calls. Try factory resetting your phone to rule out hardware defects. Actually shocking that it’s not even been 24 hours and you’re having issues.

Yesterday I set up our 2 IPhone 12 Pros, on a couple of calls, got all the “noise,etc” that others have experienced. Today, wife tried shutting off Settings>IPhone>calls on other devices, noise and other speaker problems cleared up. Hope this helps others.

So I was able to meet with a Genius” personnel and got my issue resolved. What fixed it was to reset the settings. The only way they could understand is to actually physically listen to what I was saying face to face. And when he heard my problem, eureka!!!!!!

no one at the store had even seen my problem before. So you might try that.

I just had my Iphone back after 1 week of test by an Apple Premium reseller.

(I perform tests with the assistance one month during, they told me to bring it to the premium reseller).

They did nothing, as the issue is software related, so they told me to wait for the firmware update.

As Apple told them, they do not replace the devices anymore, because some of them had still the issue...

Same here sounded as if speaker was blown or torn at times. I took it into Apple. They ran diagnostics and it came back as good but person running diagnostics heard it as well. They kept it overnight, going to pick up tomorrow. Said they are going to replace the speaker and see if that fixes it? Will find out tomorrow.

It’s looking like a software issue for now. Rebooting seems to fix it for most people.

Happened to me the last 2 days as well. A restart fixed the problem but I didn't pay $900 for this....

I’m having a similar issue with the reverb. While typing on the keyboard, the sound of the keys being pressed keeps playing even after I’ve stopped typing, closed out of all apps and locked the phone. The only solution is to restart the device.

I have this EXACT same issue, I tried to take a call afterwards and couldn't hear anything, tried to call back, same issue... I restarted my phone and all good after.

There is something wrong going on 100%
