I have a new iPad Pro, I purchased a keyboard for the iPad and where the cameras are located on the back, the cover covers up all but the two cameras at the top, is that the proper cover?

What happens if I use an iPad cover that covers up part of the camera on the back of my iPad pro

No, if its covering up the cameras, then its not the correct keyboard case.

This clearly suggests that the keyboard that you have is not designed for your 2020 (second generation) iPad Pro 11” - but was instead intended for the 2018 (first generation) iPad Pro 11”.

Cases designed for the 2020 model are back compatible with the 2018 model - but the same is not true in reverse. The 2020 models have the larger camera array that includes the LiDAR sensor.
