I can't set up Wi-Fi Calling on MacBook Pro or iPad Pro from iPhone 12 Pro. Notification shows up on these devices and it keeps coming back for every 1 - 2 minutes

I try to turn on Wi-Fi Calling and for other devices on iPhone 12 Pro (T-Mobile). Notification shows up on MacBook Pro (Big Sur) and iPad Pro 11-inch (iPadOS 14.1) so I select "Turn On." Problem is that the notification keep coming back for every 2 minutes on both devices. On iPhone, "Add Wi-Fi Calling For Other Devices" turns on and off by itself, probably after I select "Turn on" on MacBook Pro or iPad Pro.

Apple rep said it's T-Mobile's issue, but T-Mobile rep can't figure out how to fix it either. Any advice is very much appreciated!

Big Sur is not the issue and I can agree with that because it is limited to the Mac. I have the same setup as yours including T-Mobile as my carrier. I have run into issues such as the one you mentioned. I have manually turned WiFi Calling OFF and ON to fix it at times and most often a Forced Restart on the iPhone fixes it as well.

Try and Force Restart your iPhone EXACTLY as shown below and see whether that resolves the issue:

  • Press and quickly release Volume UP button
  • Press and quickly release Volume DOWN button
  • Press and Hold the SIDE button until an Apple logo appears and then release the Side button (Can take up to 20 seconds. (DO NOT release Side Button when invited to Slide Power OFF).

Make sure that WiFi Calling is turned OFF on all your devices. Shut down and Restart ALL your devices that are using WiFi calling. After that Turn ON WiFi Calling on All of your devices beginning with the iPhone. Make sure that Add: Wifi Calling to all your devices is set to ON on your iPhone.

You are using BETA version of Big Sur and therefore T-Mobile is not going to have the proper solution. You may experience issues with this every time you update the Beta Version of Big Sur. No need to downgrade your Mac to macOS Catalina however ensure that you always have the latest BETA version of Big Sur installed. As you know, there is no support available for BETA software on these forums here.
