Moving from google drive to iCloud drive

I’m trying to move all my files/photos from google drive to iCloud Drive. I haven’t deleted google drive yet because every time I click on a file in iCloud Drive it brings up the google drive program. Many of the files are in google sheets and I can’t figure out how to change them to files that iCloud can recognize. Will I ever be able to move away from google drive???
