duplicate folders & contacts in Apple Contacts

Help! I've got one Office365 account that seems to behave as expected in Outlook.app, but not at all on Contacts.app.

In Outlook, and on the web, there are very few duplicate contacts.

When I add it on Contacts.app, the Contacts folder appears 5 times, and the number of contacts in each folder vary. See below.

Jay A (all the same person) appears in 4 of the 5 Contacts folders.

Paez, A appears in only 2 of the 5.

And so on and so forth.

Deleting the account from the machine (there is only one) removes all of the Contacts folders.

In Outlook, and on the Web, there is only one Contacts folder.

The problem is limited Apple's Contacts.app, but I don't know how to solve it.
