iPhone 12 not getting group texts

I am having this same issue with my new Iphone 12 Pro. I have an iPad the shares this account and the problem has been pushed over to that as well. But other iPhone in the house, who are also a part of the group text, are not having this issue. My daughter is getting messages on her iPhone Xs (was mine until 2 weeks ago) but I am not getting them. Very frustrating.

Same Here! Just got my iPhone 12 Pro Max with T-Mobile and I have missing texts in groups. My iPhone X is showing them fine. This is unacceptable. You can’t have an issue with a basic part of a communication device. Missing very important messages is really unacceptable.

Yup, same issue here. Didn't realize that others were having the same issue until this morning (and didn't realize how frequently I'd been having it, either!) It seems to have started when I switched over to my iPhone 12 Pro.

Interesting. I'm glad to hear that worked for you. That has not been turned on for me, and I've been working with an Apple Senior Advisor who has escalated my case to engineering. But so far nothing has worked. I've reset my phone completely to factory settings, tried turning on and off all these things. Nothing has worked. I'm waiting for a new sim card to arrive from Verizon, but so far I don't believe this is a carrier issue. I have found that if I log into Verizon's messaging app Messages+ on a web format (cause I can't get it to let me download it on my iPhone), it shows all the messages I have been missing.

I am having the same issue with the 12 Pro. Thought it was a T-Mobile issue but from several web searches it appears it is the phone or maybe the 5G SIM card. I upgraded from an 8 Plus that never had the issue. The 12 Pro is missing some and sometimes all of the messages. They just never arrive. All the standard fixes (delete the group, restart phone, turn group off then on) help for a short time then I just stop receiving messages from the group.

I am also having the same issue. I use Verizon, as does my best friend who is included in many of the group texts I am missing messages from. She uses an iPhoneX and is not having the same issue. Prior to upgrading to the 12, I have never experienced this problem.

I do not have wi-fi calling enabled.

I have the same problem on my iPhone 12 mini iOS 14.2 and still I have just now after upgraded to iOS 14.3. Though on iPad mini 4 with iOS 14.2 the previous messages of same group chat in Messages shows up. I know that iPhone 12 mini was a good choice but this is not too elegant.

I’ve been having this problem too. I noticed it when I was missing huge chunks of chat on Christmas Eve, at least. I have an iPhone 11 and I was on Sprint and had recently asked to be switched to the T Mobile servers bc Sprint isn’t good at my house. I switched to AT&T on Dec 26 and I am still having the problem. Maybe it was in the update? The people that I am missing convos from are also on iPhones.

Yes I hope it gets fixed ASAP. I am missing tons of important work messages. The weird thing is if my husband and I are included in a group chat, he gets different messages than I do- we both are missing out on the entire thread though...

This thread was started Nov 2, 2020 and latest message reports that the issue still has not been fixed on Feb 17, 2021. Yuck. It would be nice to see a response from Apple if they want to keep their reputation as customer friendly and tech savvy company. Especially after having the Apple and Verizon CEOs touting how well their companies are working together during the iPhone 12 product announcement.

I’m not having the issues as much as I did when I first purchased the phone. It still needs to be fixed. My husband has an android. I need to be able to communicate with him by text and be assured the message went through.

Well It worked for mine so idk what to tell you. You could try it. Then do a new group message.

you can’t say for sure “it’s not” when in fact you have no solution to your problem. It’s many things; this is what worked for me. I understand the frustration I had to deal with it for two days. Sorry

I’ve done a new SIM card, I’ve made sure settings were good, it’s been happening since My new phone. My husband has the same. One of my business partners has the same issue. He gets different texts from a group message than I do. It’s so frustrating.

SO frustrated with this phone... called Apple AGAIN and am getting a new phone shipped out, will see if it’s ALL 12 pro max phones or just lots of lemons! Fingers crossed, will be here tmrw so will update tmrw

I would agree with tech coach being a scam or phishing. I tried it out of desperation to fix my group text issues. They had me do a few things that I had already tried such as logging out of iCloud and logging back in... they had no idea how to help. I suggest not using that service. They said I would need to talk to a tier two rep... yea sure...

I called at and t- they really didn’t know much either- did some trouble shooting which did not solve the issue... so if someone has had their issue resolved I’d love to hear how it got resolved.
