iPhone 12 pro scratched screen

I had mine sent to my home because it was going to be iffy if my store would be open or not.

It turns out they were, but they weren’t doing screen protectors at all they said, so I had to do it myself, and I didn’t get it too wrong.

Of course I had it on hand before my phone even arrived and as I advise I didn’t even touch the screen before I applied the protector.

(Aside from scratches, no worries about dust or cleaning the screen that way. 😁)

I have only had my iPhone 12 Pro Max for no longer than 1 or 2 months and I haven’t had any scratches on the back but I definitely have terribly bad scratches on the front I’m not going to lie I don’t have a case on it but I have 3 or more terrible scratches on the front and I am not happy about this

Well, maybe the sales people should have strongly recommended a purchase of a very reasonably priced screen protector OR maybe Apple should have disclosed the compromise that a purchaser would have to make so that they could buy without disappointment!

I also noticed a small scratch appear on my iPhone 12 Mini screen. Like other people posting I have been extremely careful with my expensive new phone. I owned my original iPhone SE for 4 years and had no such issues. A couple of weeks after buying the Mini a noticeable scratch appeared on the "super strong ceramic glass front screen". Apple I am not impressed.

It is absolutely your right to not use a screen protector. I do find it amazing you'd rather spend $$Hundreds of dollars replacing a shattered screen as opposed to $30 for a good quality tempered glass screen protector, which feels just as good as the iPhone screen itself, actually has better finger print/smudge protection and can also add even more protection from a shattered screen in a fall. Different strokes, I guess.

But what you can't do, is complain if your screen gets scratched without a protector because NO ONE has created glass which can't be scratched. So enjoy your phone without a protector and understand it can scratch and just live with the scratches. Of course if you're very rich and you can somehow create glass which can't be scratched, you'll become richer beyond your wildest dreams. I hope you do that.

I had my 12 pro max 2 days…… all the iPhones I’ve ever had, never had a mark on screen, I had a case ready for delivery of phone and a screen protector , a mark just appeared from nowhere , a blemish , not a scratch …… I’m really annoyed as it’s bugging me so much

It's physically impossible for the screen to scratch under a screen protector, unless the scratches were present before you applied it or you trapped debris between the screen protector and the screen.

Same exact thing happened to me, had a iPhone XR and didn’t have a screen protector and it was fine. Had the 12 pro max for less than a week and I’m sure to take an obsessive amount of care to prevent scratches. So when I saw it scratched, I was very dissatisfied. Feel the old glass was better for scratches anyways.

Your choice not to use a screen protector of course. But if you don't, you have only yourself to blame if the screen gets scratches. GLASS IS GLASS and GLASS SCRATCHES.

If apple delivers a phone that has scratches on the screen it should replace it without questions. I dont see much help here from Apple on how to proceed....

Hopefully, the protector made the scratch not visible underneath. They often do a good job of hiding scratches.

Mine is very scratched already after a week, never happened to my iPhone 11 Pro!

The new iphone 12 is CLEARLY more scratch prone than other models, you liking or believing it or not. The article does not apply to the new model

Yep! Scratched after 3 days and had a protective case and not dropped. Last iPhone I had for 4 years & no scratches! Is there any way of getting rid of them?

Too late to do what most of us do with each new device:

Put it in a case and put on a screen protector. Case costs $25 and the screen protector costs about a dollar.
