Do you mean the same Steve Jobs who built an iPhone most people held wrong and didn't work well as a phone? First it's very poor form to Channel Mr. Jobs. Second, he was no Saint and he had loads of missteps along his path.
That said, the new screens on the iPhone 12 is NOT a misstep. Your interpretation of Ceramic Shield's property or better, misinterpretation, is what is wrong. Apple never said they had created a phone which can't be scratched. They said they created a phone which is 4 times less likely to shatter. Glass is glass. And all glass can be scratched. All. That's why Apple, along with many other retailers sell screen protectors to protect your valuable investment.
There are loads of links littered throughout this thread which explains how no glass manufacturer has yet figured out how to make glass equally hard to shatter and scratch. If you can figure out a formula which can, you'll become richer beyond your dreams.
