Looks like you got lucky. I took it from the store after i opened it to check it and put it back in the box - guess what? Got scratched on the way back. So i got home with a brand new scratched iphone 12 pro max. Amazing, right?

Have an iPhone 12 Pro Max with a case since day one, screen protector and now I tooked out the case to add a camera lens protector and I found an scratch on the back glass, same spot and same scratch that has another phone on a forum that I found, there's no way that scratch happened to me, it came like that from factory, and now are they going to say that is cosmetic? hello people we are the consumers we don't owe Apple, they owe us, Apple your phone is over $1000 dollars so you should take care about your mistakes.

I have also had my phone for 3 days now and when I got up this morning I noticed a deep scratch on my iPhone 12, the scratch is only 1 cm but still, its a scratch on my new phone. My other phones prior to this never got a scratch on them like this one has. I prefer the glass on the other iPhones like the iPhone 11 Pro Max. My question: is there a way to get the scratch out or do I have to now pay $29 to have the screen replaced?

I have owned every iPhone since the first one and I have never had this issues. I have had screen protectors and have not had screen protectors. I have dropped previous phones and have never had any issues with the glass. Setting your phone down on a table, wearing an earring, etc, isn't out of the bounds of normal usage. She wasn't flinging rocks, didn't drop it, didn't take a nail to the phone, didn't set it on crushed diamonds, screw, etc - just set it down. There was nothing on the table that was between 5/6 on the Mohs hardness scale.

Your logic is flawed - you shouldn't have to purchase a screen saver after purchasing a $800 phone. The glass should withstand normal use.

What your old iPhone did or didn't do has absolutely nothing to do with the materials used on the new one.

That having been said, the iPhone 12 is more scratch-resistant than the iPhone 11 was.

Apple should sell the phone with a screen protector with it, knowing there are concerns with the screen.

In my case the AT&T store did not have them and by the time Amazon delivery three days later, it was to late. Now I have to spend another 300 to replace a scratched screen, due to the low-quality screens..

If Apple did include the phone with a protector, they would increase the price of the phone accordingly. I am glad Apple doesn't include a screen protector as I prefer to choose the protector I want on my phone.

Hope all you want. Apple is NOT going to recall the phones because you chose not to protect the screen on your phone. Every iPhone manufactured since the dawn of iPhone has been able to be scratched. Apple hasn't EVER recalled a single one before and certainly isn't going to recall them now.

Yep. I’m disgusted mine scratched almost immediately and so easily I have no idea how it happened. Total BS on apple’s part to create a product that scratches when you look at it and make it impossible to return when you find out how unacceptably made the product is.

fact remains, this was not an issue on any phone I’ve owned before- ever. It’s a ridiculous problem to have to deal with on any product much less one like this. My last apple product.

If we are careful and don’t shatter our screens—I’ve never shattered a screen in my 11 years of owning iPhones—we shouldn’t need to use a screen protector that alters the experience. Especially if our previous phones never scratched. 6 Plus - no scratches in 6 years. iPhone 11 - scratches in 5 weeks. Why??
