I believe this thread started as an Issue connecting iPhone 12 via Bluetooth to models of Homewerks bathroom light/fan/speaker then others jumped in on various other Bluetooth issues like JBL speakers, cars, etc. I encourage everyone who has a Homewerks bathroom light/fan/speaker to call Apple Support at 1-800-APLCARE and request a ticket be open for tracking the obvious problem that all model Apple phones connect to this particular bathroom fan except many versions of the iPhone 12. Then call back every two weeks for update on status of the open tickets amongst many... including Homeworks themselves that sent these bathroom fans to Apple for troubleshooting.

I have two Homewerks Bluetooth bathroom light / fans. Got my new iPhone 12 and it would see them as discoverable but would say “unable to pair...”. I first tried it after upgrading to IOS 14.2 so never tried it with IOS 14.1. My wife’s iPhone 8 with 14.1 code pairs both fans every time. Going to miss jamming to music in the shower from this speaker. I’m not very hopeful Apple will tweak this or fix in code.

My wife has the same issue with her Zero motorcycle....has Apple an idea when they will fix the problem, as more and more people have the problem with different devices.

As mentioned in earlier posts it seems that there is a problem with the iPhones 12 from the beginning as my wife couldn’t even pair her motorcycle before the new version of iOS and I also had and still have issues pairing with my Pioneer MRX-5 speaker.

I am experiencing a problem with a RX350 while trying to upgrade from a IP6 to a IP12. Apparently the cars old pairing is still looking for the 6 version and the 12 is being blocked or not found.

after removing the link to the 6 and shutting the phone off, there was a brief flash of the 12 pair on the cars screen. And then back to no iPhone found.

I believe that there is no way to remove the earlier version from phone to device. The device will not give up its old pairing.

I feel your pain regarding your BlueTooth issues as my iPhone 12 Pro Max in not pairing up to my HomeWerks music bathroom fan as all three of our previous iPhone 11 pro Max’s did on there first try. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that this is just a software clitch that Apple knows about along with your issues and is working on.

Are you able to pair up to anything with your new iPhone 12 or most things and only having a few random product pairing issues as some of us do? Let us and Apple know which products you can’t pair with on your new iPhone 12 as I do believe Apple reads these boards or should be to resolve issues.......

keep the faith as we do love everything else about our iPhone 12 pro max’s besides some very random pairing issues that are important to us and we hope Apple is working on as we speak.

The original poster marked it as resolved. They are the only one who can mark a thread as Solved. If you don’t like it take it up with them.

and no, I will not address the issue. And none of the other users in this user to user forum will either.

It is most likely a problem in the Homewerks out of date Bluetooth firmware, because the phone connects to other BT devices.

I just had my second phone call with Apple support. It is a known issue. But, according to them, the problem isn’t with Apple. It is with Homewerks because their firmware on the brand new fan I bought and took out of the box is outdated. So, naturally, Homewerks should send actual humans into every single person’s home who has purchased one of these fans to update the firmware. In my opinion Apple is too big for its britches and banks so heavily on customer loyalty that they can do whatever they want and we foot the bill to get the latest and greatest.

I didn’t even want this iPhone 12. I had over 4000 pics on my old Apple. My computer operating system was too old to work with the newest version of iTunes to download them. Apples only solution for me besides downloading thousands of pictures individually was to upgrade my phone. I did. Now I can’t use my brand new fan/light.

I think I’ve simply outgrown Apple. I’m 48. Single mom with teen. I have other priorities with my money than upgrading or buying their latest gadget as soon as they tell me to I want to use things until they break. I’m tired of Apples throwaway society.

So, Apple, are you willing to buy me out of this high priced phone I didn’t even need so I can switch to a phone that will allow me to download pictures AND use my fan/light?

yeah. I didn’t get the impression you have a flying fig.

I'm having the same issue with a BT-280 Mini Mushroom bluetooth speaker.

Connects fine on my old iPhone X.

Will absolutely not connect to my iPhone 12 Pro.

I've tried everything - disconnected it from the old phone, switched my Bluetooth on and off, re-booted my phone and the speaker, updated my software. Nothing has worked. So this has to be an Apple glitch.

It's driving me insane
