iPhone 12 Pro - Call Failed - Verizon

I've had my new 12 Pro for 1 day and cannot make or receive calls. Receive "call failed" message. Can receive and make texts as well as email. Verizon says it is related to 5G outage but it doesn't make sense since LTE and WiFi calling don't work. Anyone having similar issues?

iPhone 12 Pro, iOS 14

I wanted to update everyone who has been following these post. Verizon was nice enough to send me a new iPhone (12 Pro.)

When I got it today, all I did was activate the cell service over wifi. I did not put any apps or personal data on the phone. It came with software version 14.2.1 I did not update it to 14.3. I turned off automatic updates. Which also in on by default. I made sure Wifi calling was on. (by default its on)

I started to call. Did not drop a single call. It was happening on my older (2) 12pro's every 3 -5 min. I haven't mad 100's of calls yet. But is seems the problem is not there. So it seems to be the update process. Not the update or the Version. My old phones worked fine. My first phone came with a version less then 14.2.1. I updated it to 14.2.1 as soon as I did Wifi calling started to drop. My second came with 14.2.1 it worked fine. As soon as I updated it to 14.3 it started to drop calls.

This phone (which is my third) came with 14.2.1 so far it works fine. I will not update it to 14.3

So again, I think it is the update process that is causing Wifi calling to break. As I make more calls, I will update everyone.

No, you and the 2 others with AT&T problems are rude, you hijacked a thread that is clearly about people with Verizon phones. And the fact that you and 2 others here are having dropped call problems does not mean it is for the same issue. Dropped calls have happened on cell phones since they were first used and they can occur for a variety of reasons. When the majority of people here who are having problems with Verizon are trying to find answers it just clutters up the thread when people post about other carriers. And no, you are the first.

So be the first to start a new thread about AT&T, modify this title, give all the pertinent information and maybe more people will chime in. I'm not having dropped calls issues nor is anyone I know in this area that now has an iPhone 12.

To all. It looks like my other post were not correct. After two days of my Wifi calling working. It no longer does. And I did not do no anything different. So my post about connecting to your computer and using the restore function. Does not seem to work. Back on the phone with Apple.

I will update if I get any answers. It just may be that for some reasons 14 on some phones will not allow Wifi calling to work.

I was on iOS 14.3 so therefore, so was my backup. I couldn't restore from backup unless I updated the iPhone software which came at 14.1.

One thing I noticed today was I answered a FaceTime call on my Mac (my iPhone was on Wi-Fi) and I had no connection issues. We talked for 45 minutes. I've not answered an audio call on my Mac yet but wondering if anyone has and what was the result?

To all. Just got off the phone with Apple support. They said in a nutshell. They are not willing to do anything. We must wait for their Software people to solve the problem. I asked for a new phone. The support person said she had no way of doing that. I asked her to contact her boss. She said her boss has no way of doing it.

I just got a bunch of c—- I told her to refund my money so I could go buy a Samsung. She could not do that as well.

So she said you have to wait till we fix it. My next call will be with Verizon.

I have the same problem. In addition to that, when I am on the phone with someone they keep saying me that my voice is cutting. This is a huge problem I think and I hope we will get an explanation from apple soon. I just got the phone and I don’t want to deal with these problems for a phone that I paid almost a thousand dollars. This is ridiculous.

I have a new new iPhone 12 Pro Max one month ago. I have trouble dialing calls when I am not in my office or home with wifi. I called Apple Support and they told me I have to call Verizon and have it "escalated". When I called Verizon - they said it is Apple's problem as I bought the phone from Apple - not Verizon. I've done enough troubleshooting on my end, which is most everything suggested here in this thread.

These "Call Failed" issues are affecting my work; I'm an attorney, and making calls on my iPhone is more important.

Support said I can't replace the phone.

So you carry two watches, one Verizon and one AT&T? Because I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max with AT&T and have no such issue. I have a friend who works downtown and has no such issue. I'm sitting with someone using an iPhone 12 with AT&T and they have no such issue. I gave an iPhone 12 Pro to someone on T-Mobile and she isn't having the issue. But the only two people I know with Verizon are having such issues as you. They are also having 5G data speed issues that have been reported and that PCMag says the solution is to turn off 5G. And this is for all model phones.
