Security issue in Boot Camp

HI,

My company's IT support said my Macbook should not install Boot Camp due to security issue. Boot Camp and running Windows increase the risk of security and makes the company infrastructure vulnerable. Is it true? I need to run Windows for specific software. The following is what IT staff said.

"Whenever you install Bootcamp on your device, you are splitting the hard drive into two separate partitions. One partition runs Windows, and the other runs Mac OS. Since Mac OS is native to the device (given that it is a MacBook), the only partition that is available to encrypt is Mac OS. This presents itself as a security issue as it leaves the universities infrastructure vulnerable."

This is patently incorrect.

Please educate your University IT department about Bitlocker.

The IT Security needs a refresher course in available on-disk technologies. You may also want them to learn about Virtualization.
