iphone 12 interface vs iPhone 11 interface

Are the icons larger on the iPhone 12 pro 6.1 than on the iPhone 11 6.1? everything looks a little bigger.

Is correct or is a versión problem?

This time the app icons are half the size they were before the update. I am not exaggerating, I have an old ipad that I am using for comparison. The same update on my iphone did not change the size of the icons. I have difficulty seeing small text or objects without my reading glasses but have never needed them to see the icons on either device. So tell me, first what was the point of making this change? and second, is there an option somewhere that allows me to upsize the icons?
