iPhone 12 w/ iOS 14.1 poor hearing aid connectivity

I have iOS 14.4 downloaded within the last 24 hours. I’m not seeing any difference yet.

I am not hopeful that even 14.5 is going to help...I have been waiting for a long time and have upgraded three times to the iOS versions that Apple says will "fix" the problem...

You never know till you try it it fixed 100% of my problem it’s worth a try

Apple has know about this issue for many months.. IMHO they aren’t giving this issue the appropriate amount of attention!!

Hi there. Slight problem, I have registered, downloaded profile but it says my software is up to date (14.4). No 14.5 Beta available?

You have to download the developer profile not the public profile

I have the iPhone 12 Max and have had no issues with them pairing with my Signia hearing aids by Sivantos. Just in case it’s helpful :)

I don't seem to get the option, just a circular reference that goes nowhere. The iOS 14 Beta Software profile is currently loaded.

Hi Mike19995. Thanks for your suggested fix for your brand of hearing aids. I have Bernafon Zerena 9 hearing aids (purchased from Costco) which worked perfectly with my previous Iphone 10. I upgraded to an Iphone 12 Pro last week and when using the telephone the sound was great. However, I experienced the same static sound issue when using my hearing aids to listen to music on websites (eg. Pandora) or any YOUTUBE videos. I have turned off the "PLAY SYSTEM SOUND" option and the problem appears to be remedied. Stay well and stay safe, Bob

Thanks for your post. I also tried the "reset network settings" as well as a full "reset all settings" without any luck. I even used the phone briefly before restoring from backup to test the hearing aid connectivity. The phone was as clean as possible, nothing installed. I still had the exact same issues.

Currently I'm using my TV streamer 2 plugged into the headphone jack of the phone. The steamer sound is perfect. But it's a pain to setup for every call. Hopefully Apple fixes the issues with iOS 14.3.

I don't believe this is left channel issue I believe it is a problem with the iphone 12 (whatever flavor) having problems streaming 2 low power blue tooth signals simultaneously, which mfi hearing aids utilize. Try this little experiment when streaming and either the right or left hear aid begins to glitch go into accessibility options and disable streaming to the WORKING hearing aid. I have found out, that will stabilize the glitching hearing aid. Let it stream for awhile to prove that it stays stable then re-enable the disabled hearing aid. Most of the time for me the re-enabled hearing aid comes back up and is stable while the hearing aid that was fixed become unstable again.

lets hope they have a firmware fix for this and its not a limitation of the new hardware design.

let us know how your replacement works. Maybe they'll fix the issue with a different bluetooth chipset which would mean hardware replacement. I hope the issue isn't caused by the new magsafe connection interfering with the low power blue tooth signals. That would be problematic. And again hardware change and replacement IF they chose to address the issue.
