iPhone 12 w/ iOS 14.1 poor hearing aid connectivity

I am having the same issue with Signia Hearing aids since I switched from 6-plus to iPhone 12. Please fix this. I am not able to use my blue tooth hearing aids with this phone. I will have to change phones if it is not fixed soon.

Yes, it is frustrating, but I suggest everyone practice patience, a fix will come without going through frustration of downloading a beta update that could possibly cause you more headaches in the big picture. Today’s society is a “I want it now!” society, patience is a virtue.

I am guessing you don't have a significant hearing loss. For those who do, even one more second of no accessibility is too much. Thank you for your reminder about patience and heading off troubles, but Apple really needs to consider all angles before releasing devices to the public to be fair.

About 10 minutes ago, Apple released iOS 14.2.1 through regular update channels. No need to use beta software now.

It includes a fix for Made for iPhone hearing devices that were experiencing sound quality issues. Apple's release notes are below.

iOS 14.2.1 addresses the following issues for your ‌iPhone‌:

- Some MMS messages may not be received

- Made for ‌iPhone‌ hearing devices could have sound quality issues when listening to audio from ‌iPhone‌

- Lock Screen could become unresponsive on ‌iPhone 12‌ mini

For the first time I have listened to music, enjoyed my Spanish lesson and talked on the phone all with no static or volume changes or hearing devices dropped. I just sent an email to Tim Cook thanking him. What a relief!

Three days with no problems then just received a call and there was too much static on both units to hear it. Called them back and there was no problem. Hope it was just a one time glitch. I had really hoped new update solved the problem.

My wife has reSound Preza hearing aids and has the static issue with her new iPhone 12 mini running iOS 14.1. EVERY TIME her phone makes a noise she gets the static (or as she calls it “cassette tape rewinding noise”). The sound hits her right hearing aid about 60% of the time, in her left hearing aid the other 40%, but never in both aids at the same time.

It’s extremely annoying for her, and frequently painful. C’mon Apple...do right by your faithful customers!

It's been four days since I updated to Beta 14.3 PB2 and I'm happy to say I have NOT experienced any issue with hearing aid connectivity with my Oticon Opn 2 miniRITE hearing aids. I'm using an iPhone 12 Pro...still waiting on Apple to credit me back the $620.55 for the iPhone replacement that they recommended due to the problem after four days from receiving my new iPhone 12 Pro.

I returned my iPhone 12 and will wait until Apple fixes the issue MFI hearing aids. Apple says the fix will be in a future release. How long is the future? What priority do those with hearing issues have with Apple? Until the 12, hearing aid accessibility has been outstanding. It appears to me that there was no testing to ensure that the feature worked.

I am returning my iPhone 12. After reading these comments looks like  has some work to do! My return window will not wait for them to fix!

Yes. It was also necessary to delete the “Oticon On” app.

All I Really Have To Say Is “APPLE BETTER GET THEIR APP IN GEAR ON THE HEARING AID PROBLEM!!!”

My audiologist told me she's been getting numerous complaints so this is definitely a widespread problem. 

I spoke with the Accessibility tech department this morning, they are definitely aware of the problem. Their engineers are working on the issue so hopefully they'll come up with a fix ASAP....
