iPhone 12 w/ iOS 14.1 poor hearing aid connectivity

Thanks for the kind of fix. Since it does not work I am not even wear my left hearing aid. Talked with Verizon folks and they will allow me to install Wydex app on a new Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G phone to see how it works. If it is ok I will be sending my Mini back. Hate to pay restocking fee but I want a phone that will function properly with my hearing aids. As I said before makes me sad.

If you tell them at Verizon that there’s a defect they shouldn’t charge a restocking fee! I warnt to TMobile and that was the case! The problem was they didn’t have any iPhone 11 Pro Max in stock so I’m waiting for Apple to fix the problem!

Well, yesterday’s update certainly helped but hasn’t completely fixed the issue. I’ve had a couple intermittent episodes of static and one dropped connection completely. Hoping Apple is monitoring this message board and still working on a complete fix.

Hi Takeacip. Thanks for your help! Do you have the iPhone 12 model? And what hearing aids is it ok with? I have Signia and keen to clarify if it has resolved for Signia users. Thanks everyone for all your help it’s really appreciated and helpful

Hi Bobcorps. Thanks for your input! May I ask what brand of hearing aids you have? I have Signia so would love to know if the issue is persisting with that brand. There seems to be mixed experiences on different threads :)

The IPhone 12 hearing aid connectivity problem isdamaging my quality of life.

I call Apple support regularly and the pretend that it is a new problem when in fact it has been going on for months.

I always get the same answer. Engineering is working on the problem.... BS!!!! get this issue redolved!!!!!!

I upgraded to Iphone 12 pro and the sound quality (complete with static) during my phone conversations should be an extreme embarrassment to a big company like Apple. I paid that much money for that phone in order to get substandard sound quality? (I am using Phonak hearing aids).

Beta 14.5? I had to research that! Looks like the first developer beta was just released yesterday ... good on you that you already received it. I JUST received iOS 14.4 so it looks like my phone is a good week behind. I’m glad that there are improvements AND that you are happy with them ... that means I will be happy too! Yes ... your hearing situation sounds like mine. I am not a “developer” so I will have to wait until it is offered to the public. But as long as I know that improvement is on its way, I can wait. Thank you for giving me positive response ... I needed that today!

I’m up to IOS 14.4 and still no resolution of the noise and static issue. My aids worked perfectly with my IPhone 7 but not my IPhone 12.

Apple doesn’t seem to be giving this issue the attention it demands.

I have the same problem with my hearing aids compatibility with IPhone 12.

I hope Apple would fix this issue quickly. If not, I will need to go back to IPhone 11.

Same issues with my Oticon hearing aids. Frustrating as I never had this issue with the iPhone X I traded in.

According to the release notes for iOS 14.2 our issue with hearing aids was not addressed. Hoping Apple considers this issue high priority and a fix won’t be too far off 🤞🏼

Incidentally my hearing aids are Oticon mini rite. I deleted the “Oticon ON” app but that didn’t make any difference.I might try putting it back now.
