Resetting Smc if battery dead

My MacBook stopped charging and is now dead. Can I do anything to get it started again. It is not the power chord. It is the computer. I think if I could reset the SMC it might work. Suggestions?

SMC not resetting Hi everyone. I have a MacBook Pro 2016. This is the second time where the battery icon says it's full now and charging (the lightning bolt) without being plugged in, and some of the charging ports don't work. As of now, the battery icon loses the fullness icon, and just has the lightning bolt. The last time I got support, I was walked through resetting the NVRAM, PRAM, and SMC. Eventually, resetting the SMC worked. However, despite multiple attempts, none of these have worked. Please help! I rely on this computer to get me through school.

SMC reset I reset the SMC on my macbook pro, and now it wont start. it switches on, fan running at full speed, and the progress bar gets half way, and then stops
